Japanese multinational conglomerate company Sony Corporation plans to launch its latest Xperia phone model on April 14 this year.
According to The Verge, Sony has just announced, in a very discreet way, that its next Xperia event will take place on April 14 (via Droid-Life). The news was obtained from the Xperia YouTube channel banner, where it says a new product announcement will take place at 4:30 p.m. Japan Standard Time, 3:30 a.m. EST, or 12:30 p.m. PT (or 1 p.m. IST).
The standard gives no real clue as to what will be declared, but there has been some gossip about another model, the Xperia 1 III, and one about the arrival of the Xperia Compact, which may end. being an Android response to the iPhone 12 Mini.
The Verge reported that there are various rumors that notice new forms of Xperia 5 and 10, leaving out the Compact altogether. Either way, virtually all rumors show that users will see another section of the main Xperia 1 series.
Reports show that the 1 III will have a periscope zoom lens, and Techradar recently released what may be the full specifications. This is for the most part what is to be expected from a leading Android phone: Snapdragon 888, 12GB of memory, 5G and a 4K 120Hz display.
Rumors also indicate that the new model will have a 5.5-inch screen, which is only a tiny bit larger than the screen of an iPhone Mini.
Both potential phones are rumored to be equipped with headphone jacks as well, The Verge reported.
