Actor-politician Paresh Rawal is the latest celebrity to contract the coronavirus – he has tested positive for COVID-19, he revealed in a tweet Friday night. The 65-year-old actor contracted the virus weeks after receiving the first dose of the Covid vaccine. In a tweet on Friday, actor Hera Pheri wrote: “Unfortunately, I tested positive for COVID-19.” In his tweet, Mr Rawal also asked those in his neighborhood in the recent past to get tested: “Anyone who has come in contact with me in the past 10 days is urged to get tested. “
On March 9, Paresh Rawal received his first vaccine, which he revealed in a tweet. Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the former BJP MP wrote: “V for vaccines! Thank you to all doctors and nurses and frontline health workers and scientists. Thank you, Narendra Modi.” Mr. Rawal can be seen flashing the victory sign in the photo clicked at the vaccination center.

India has recorded 62,258 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the biggest one-day jump since mid-October.
