Prime Minister Scott Morrison has pledged to sit with a group of women behind nationwide protests against gender inequalities as a massive protest takes place outside Parliament’s front door.
Names of the 898 women and children killed by men since 2008. This is a national security issue pure and simple. Our bodies are our borders. More border protection please. #March4JusticeMelbourne #EnoughIsEnough pic.twitter.com/J5A69FiB7G— Prof Clare Wright (@clareawright) March 15, 2021
But protest organizers rejected the offer and said the Prime Minister and Minister for Women should face them – and thousands of other women – in public.
Thanks to all at #March4Justice today for raising your voices against misogyny & violence against women. I honour your passion for action & courage of those who have spoken out. I hope today’s decision makers hear #enoughisenough & it’s time for lasting change & real justice.— Julia Gillard (@JuliaGillard) March 15, 2021
