iQOO has announced the launch of a Snapdragon 888 powered smartphone in India, which will be priced below INR 40,000 ($ 550 / € 465). The company does not mention the name of the smartphone in its tweet, but we do know that it is the iQOO 7 because it is the only iQOO smartphone to currently have Qualcomm’s flagship mobile chip at the helm. Moreover, our sources have also confirmed to us that the tweet refers to the iQOO 7
The iQOO 7 was introduced in January and is currently only available in China with a starting price of CNY 3,798 ($ 580 / € 490 / INR 42,240). The smartphone runs Android 11 and has two memory options – 8 GB / 128 GB and 12 GB / 256 GB.
The iQOO 7 is built around a 6.62 “FullHD + pressure sensitive AMOLED display having a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of up to 1000 Hz. The display also features a fingerprint reader underneath for biometric authentication.
For photography, the iQOO 7 comes with a total of four cameras – a 16MP selfie unit inside the punch hole, with the 48MP main camera on the back joined by a 13MP ultra-wide unit and a 13MP telephoto equivalent to 50mm.
The power supply for the set is a 4000 mAh battery, advertised to go from flat to 100% in 15 minutes with the supplied 120W adapter.
iQOO has yet to reveal the launch date for the iQOO 7 in India, but we expect it to debut in the South Asian country in a few weeks.
