The Honor V40 launched in China in January and the natural tracking was said to have been a global Honor 40 model. However, we have received exclusive insider information that it will not.
No, the company will go straight to the Honor 50 series, which is expected to be unveiled in May. Below is a teaser image that has yet to be officially shared, note the circular camera design (with another circle partially visible below).

We also received design sketches showing the back of the phone. The camera island will feature two circles, similar to the design language seen in renders of the Huawei P50. Interestingly, the top circle will only contain one lens, which you can see in the teaser image above. The lower circle will house two modules and there is an LED flash in between.

We’re just guessing here, but the item on the right appears to be a snap-on filter (or lens?), Which will presumably attach to the camera circle via magnets. This could explain why the top ring has only one module inside (the lens must be in the center).
There is no word on the camera hardware yet. Why the major break with the design of the Honor V40? It looks a lot more like the design of the Honor V40 Lite, but it’s still quite different. Here are some unofficial renders of the Huawei P50 for comparison, along with official images of the Honor V40 and V40 Lite. There are other questions about the Honor 50 as well, such as whether or not it will feature Google mobile services (after all, that was the point of the Huawei split).
