Drones may be pressed into service for Covid-19 vaccine delivery – ET Government

 

 

In view of the medical emergency conditions prevailing across the country, the ministry has also granted conditional authorization for the use of drones to several other entities for various purposes for a period of one year or until further notice. .

The entities authorized to use drones during the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic are Nagar Nigam from Dehradun, Haldwani, Haridwar and Rudrapur for the preparation of a GIS-based real estate database and electronic tax register.

In addition, Vedanta Ltd. (Cairn Oil & Gas) also received conditional exemption from using drones to acquire data for inspection and mapping of assets for one year.

These exemptions will only be valid if all the conditions and limitations stated for the respective entities are strictly observed. If a condition is violated, the exemption will become null and void and action can be taken by the MoCA and DGCA, the MoCA said.
