Apple, the multinational tech giant behind the iPhone, has generally followed the strategy of making its products desirable, and it has achieved instant success in doing so. Its products are used by many and are sought after by even more. They are expensive but innovative, which reflects the rapid success of the company. Before Apple launches a new product, a crazy excitement floods consumers about the features and cost of the new product. This time, a product turns heads in surprise. Apple is now selling a “polishing cloth” for Rs 1,900.
There is more. Apple offers potential customers the option of paying in monthly installments of Rs. 224. The company claims that its polishing cloth is “made with a soft, non-abrasive material” and that it cleans any Apple screen, including glass. nano-textured, safely and effectively.
On its website, Apple has listed its “compatibility” with a range of products. The polishing cloth is compatible with a number of iPhone models, iPad models, Mac models – Apple’s three flagships – as well as select Apple Watch and iPod models.
Apple products are known for their finesse and require the utmost care. The special coating it puts on the screens of its high-end iMac systems and other similar products is susceptible to scratches during polishing. So it makes sense to use a special type of cloth, made with a soft material, to clean them. Also, compared to the cost of Apple displays, the price of the polishing cloth is negligible. Some people say that Apple should include the cloth with its products that may need it and not charge for it separately.
In other news from Apple, the company recently unveiled the third generation AirPods, which is the successor to the AirPods 2, aka AirPods (2nd generation). The new True Wireless Stereo Headphones (TWS) will be available for orders in the country through the Apple India online store from Monday 25. October and will go on sale from Tuesday.
