Apple Music is launching a collection of playlists, dubbed City Charts, which lists the 25 best songs from over 100 cities around the world. The list of cities also includes Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai. Playlists are available to Apple Music subscribers and can be found in the Browse section of the app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices. Users who haven’t subscribed to Apple Music can still browse playlists on Apple Music Player for the web. This new feature comes with the iOS 14.5 update released on April 27.
These playlists feature the top 25 songs from each of the cities listed. The cities listed are: Accra, Almaty, Atlanta, Auckland, Austin, Bangkok, Barcelona, Beijing, Bengaluru, Berlin, Birmingham (United Kingdom), Bogotá, Bordeaux, Brisbane, Budapest, Buenos Aires, Busan, Calgary, Cape Town, Chicago, Cologne, Copenhagen, Dallas, Delhi, Denver, Detroit, Dubai, Dublin, Durban, Edmonton, Frankfurt, Fukuoka, Glasgow, Guadalajara, Guangzhou, Guatemala City, Hamburg, Honolulu, Houston, Istanbul, Jakarta, Johannesburg, Kiev, Kuala Lumpur, Lagos, Lima, Liverpool, London, Los Angeles, Lyon, Madrid, Manchester, Manila, Marseille, Medellín, Melbourne, Mexico, Miami, Milan, Monterrey, Montreal, Moscow, Mumbai, Munich, Nagoya, Naha, Nairobi, Naples , Nashville, New York, Osaka, Ottawa, Paris, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Prague, Quebec, Rio de Janeiro, Riyadh, Rome, Saint Petersburg, San Diego, San Francisco, San José, San Juan, Santiago, Santo Domingo, Seattle, São Paulo, Sapporo, Sendai, Seoul, Shanghai, Sydney, Taipei, Tel Aviv, Tokyo, Toronto, Vancouver, Vienna, Varso life, Washington D.C., Winnipeg and Zurich – according to an iMore report.
Apple also says the playlists are updated daily. If you are not subscribed to Apple Music, you can still view the playlists on its website. Apple Music also introduces search and record label pages allowing users to find and follow songs and albums from specific labels. Along with it, it also added a lyric sharing feature which allows users to share specific parts of the song through iMessage, Facebook and Instagram stories.
